Civil War Encampment Recap

Our Third Annual Civil War Reenactment was June 9 & 10, 2018 — HUGE thank you to the Reenactors, our Volunteers and Visitors for making it a very successful weekend.  Also a shout out to our outstanding sponsors:  Bob’s Barbeque Catering, Coffee Mania, Cortland Country Club and Tom Kile Construction & Masonry!

In 2017, we “upgraded” our Civil War Weekend from an Encampment, to a Reenactment, with the addition of skirmishes to the presentations, demonstrations, and living history (camp life).

Our First Great Civil War Encampment Weekend was May 21-22, 2016  Recap & lots of pictures will be added here soon.  Check out “Homeville Museum” on Facebook for many of the pictures. The only negative to the weekend was the marginal weather, which caused minor issues on Saturday and an early shut down on Sunday.  Huge thank you to:

  • Ghost Ryders
  • 144th NY Vol Infantry
  • Crenshaw’s Battery (Artillery)
  • 1st VA Light Artillery, Powhatan Battery
  • 26th TX Cavalry (Dismounted)
  • John & Tanya Morrisett from the Finger Lakes Fife & Drum Corps. By the way, they’re recruiting–see their website.
  • Tom Schobert as Gen Robert E. Lee
  • Rich Gow as Gen Lewis A Armistead
  • The many, many CNY Living History Center and component volunteers who worked hard from planning & setup to cleanup!
