Genie’s World War II Photos

“Genie” was an Army nurse in World War Two. She was stationed in Northern Ireland and England during the war, and toured around the UK. This collection includes many of the photographs she took, which were donated to the Homeville Museum in 2023.

William Fairbanks’ Scrapbook

– William Fairbanks (1920-1954) served as a Radioman/Gunner in the South Pacific during World War Two. He flew in a B-25 bomber which was part of the 345th Bomber Wing, 501st Bomb Squadron, stationed at Clark Field in the Philippines, Nadzab in Papua New Guinea and Ie Shima (part of Okinawa Prefecture in Japan). The 345th escorted the Japanese envoys to the surrender in Manilla at the end of the war. His scrapbook is in the Homeville Collection, and it includes hundreds of unique images from his Army service.
